Final Outpost: Definitive Edition finally launches on mobile
Well, zombies do move slow

- Final Outpost: Definitive Edition is now available on iOS and Android
- Build your own survivor colony and manage it in the aftermath of the apocalypse
- Shore up your defences and fight off the hordes of the undead
After a bit of a delay, Final Outpost: Definitive Edition has released on mobile and is now available on the iOS App Store and Google Play for $4.99. Exabyte Games' intriguing mixture of base-builder, colony sim and zombie survival strategy is now available for everyone to sink their teeth into.
Alright, but what does that all mean? Well, Final Outpost can best be described as Dwarf Fortress, but with zombies. There are some distinguishing factors, of course, but the core concept of minimalist graphics and dense, yet fun, micromanagement gameplay is there.
Final Outpost tasks you with building your own colony of survivors in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. You'll need to carefully manage your resources, assign different jobs to your various members and ensure that you can accrue the resources needed to survive and thrive. Oh, and ensure you have enough defences to not be eaten alive by the undead, of course.

Final Outpost: Definitive Edition is, of course, an overall improved and polished version of the original Final Outpost. But it also boasts new mechanics to draw in existing fans. For one, you can now found and maintain more than one colony, with each map offering modifiers that change the weather, behaviour of zombies and other crucial aspects. Then there's the Trader, a seemingly minor addition, but the ability to buy and sell goods will drastically change how you develop your colony. There's also a new building, difficulty modes and, well, you'll just have to dig into Final Outpost for yourself, won't you?
And if Final Outpost gives you a taste for strategy, and you think that you'd make a keen empire builder, why not go ahead and dig into our own comprehensive ranking of the top 25 best strategy games on iOS and Android?
