Sonic Dream Team debuts major new update including Shadow-exclusive level

For Sonic fans, one of the more underrated releases on mobile for the famous blue hedgehog has to be the Apple Arcade-exclusive Dream Team. Trust Apple to snag this excellent mobile spin-off. Now, a major new update adds some exciting features, including a new level for Shadow the Hedgehog!

But first, for you completionists out there, it's the addition of outfits that's sure to be exciting. You know what these are, as you'll be able to don all varieties of new looks for Sonic and friends, all unlockable via Challenge XP on a new reward track!

Meanwhile, the spreading Nightmares have now reached Ego City, and it's up to Shadow to stop them in his new level. Accompanying his stage are also plenty of additional music tracks, with picks from Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Frontiers, and Sonic x Shadow Generations. So, there's bound to be a healthy dose of nostalgia in there for long-time fans.

You'll also be able to nab some new statues bearing the additional outfits added in this update. And for those attentive to that sort of thing, there's been a host of cleanups and bugfixes, as well as a fix for an issue where save files weren't syncing to iCloud.

While Rovio and its glut of new releases based on the Sonic franchise have been big news, it's worth noting Sonic has already had a bit of a presence on mobile. Hopefully, one day, fans who aren't on iOS or who aren't Apple Games subscribers will be able to get their hands on Dream Team, too!
