The Wrapp - Super Jump Farming King Boy... Wait, that's not right

Hey there, welcome to our latest edition of The Wrapp.

This is a chance for you to see what the various members of the Pocket Gamer team are planning to play over this weekend and will, hopefully, give you an idea of some of the weird and wonderful things we get up to when we’re not keeping you up to speed with the latest news and tips. Heck, you might even find a new game to play.

The release of Jump King on mobile is what I’m most interested in this weekend. I’m always interested in a free-to-play release in that genre, and given how much fun I had with Vampire Survivors, I don’t think that an exceptionally difficult release will put me off. And having something that, as Will put it, is best experienced in short doses sounds perfect for me.

There will be a lot of farming in my future as I take a look at Super Farming Boy to see what all that jazz is about. I generally have a hit-or-miss track record when it comes to top-down adventure games on mobile, but this one looks much slower-paced. I'll have to do my best not to get caught up in the serene repetition of doing farm work chores to watch my crops grow and lands expand across the… well, the land. I'll look through my library to see what other similar-style games I've played that made me feel warm and fuzzy and were fun to play overall.

I’ve had a busy past couple of weeks, so I’m going to spend a lot of this weekend bedrotting (AKA what I do best). This gives me the perfect chance to spend a bit of time with my Nintendo Switch! I’m hoping to play the first Ace Attorney game. I appreciate I’m literally nearly two decades late to the party, but I’ve somehow managed to see both the TV and film adaptations of the series without ever playing the games properly, so I want to catch up with what I missed.

If I’m too tired to hunt for hints and solve cases, which is entirely possible, I’ll probably play around on my phone instead. I want to try out Hello Kitty Friends Match because it looks absolutely adorable, so I might give that a go - although it makes me feel a bit like I’m cheating on Sanrio’s Aggretsuko match-three-puzzler, which I’ve stuck to for years now.

I unfortunately won’t have much time for gaming this weekend, thanks to a few family commitments. Which is incredibly bad timing since Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered has just dropped. On Steam, obviously, giving the Switch version a miss thanks to Nintendo and their recent shenanigans.

I’m planning on giving Eclipsoul a go this weekend for a possible Ahead of the Game feature, mainly because the visuals remind me so much of Hades.

If I can pry myself away from Shogun Showdown, that is.

A few weeks back, I said that I was getting really into playing Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic through Apple Arcade. Well, last weekend, while queuing at Legoland, I spent a surprising amount of time doing exactly that, and I’m now absolutely hooked on it.

I’m progressing at a decent pace through the included missions, however, it does really show how games have developed over the years, as I’ve found myself frustrated that I couldn’t complete missions ahead of the deadline date, and can’t filter furniture by it being vandalised. All things that came later in the series and would have been even more mindblowing than it already was at launch.

It's a case of too many games and too little time for me this week. Catherine's infectious enthusiasm for Shogun Showdown has made me want to try that out, while a string of new releases like Dunk City Dynasty, Jump King, and Pup Champs have also caught my eye. Which of those will I end up playing? Probably Pokémon TCG Pocket, to be honest.
