First unveiled in February, Wingspan: Asia Expansion finally spreads its wings later this month on iOS, Android, PC, Switch, and console. This third digital expansion from Monster Couch adds an entirely new region to the award-winning strategy experience, bringing with it new mechanics, new birds, and a lush celebration of Asia’s wildlife and culture.
The biggest part about Wingspan’s Asia Expansion is Duet Mode, a brand new two-player format that puts a creative spin on competitive play. You and your opponent will face off on a distinct Duet Map, using tokens to claim habitat spaces while chasing exclusive end-of-round goals. All the new patterns and bird combos encourage you to be more interactive and make tighter plans.
Naturally, this expansion brings a fresh flock of feathered friends into your preserve. The birds of Asia come with special powers, new scoring opportunities, and plenty of charming quirks. Each one is a delight to discover, complete with fun facts and regional flavour. You’ll also find 13 new bonus cards to shake up your long-term goals, two of which are tailored for Automa, the solo mode AI.
On the presentation side, Wingspan: Asia Expansion continues the series’ tradition of meditative beauty. You’ll get four new region-inspired backgrounds, eight new player portraits, and four new original music tracks by composer Pawel Górniak, designed to keep you immersed and focused.
