Etheria: Restart guide - 7 tips for newbies

When you want to start off on the right foot in any game, you typically need a guide that covers all the basics - and preferably a bit more. I made an Etheria: Restart guide so that you can learn exactly what to do and what to avoid doing, especially in the early stages.
From managing your Stamina to spending your premium currency on banners, I will cover everything that is important to know.
About Etheria: Restart
Etheria: Restart is a pretty classic turn-based gacha, but on top of that, there is an element of freedom - the world almost feels like an open world where you get to interact with the environment, search for loot, and even try choosing which enemies you attack. These are some traits oftentimes found in open-world MMOs, which kinda give Etheria: Restart a unique flair. However, it is still a gacha, and managing your resources is one of the most - if not THE most - important things you need to learn. That is, unless you have endless money to spend in the Shop.
By any means, it's not as P2W as some other gachas I've played, but it is not that F2P-friendly either. You do get a lot of free pulls from the Etheria codes, so you can try getting some of the best characters in Etheria: Restart that way.
Etheria: Restart Guide Breakdown
This Etheria: Restart guide will focus mainly on a few tips that you need to drill into your head from the beginning (even more so if you are a F2P player). I've played this for quite a bit, and it's really fun if you love the genre. It's even better if you manage to get some top-tier characters, since they will make your battles feel like a walk in the park. So, if your goal is to advance quickly, I say it's time we check out the actual tips. Let's dive right in!
Tip #1 - Focus on the Main Story and first clear

As you start playing, you will notice that you can get some pretty good rewards the very first time you clear a stage. I recommend you focus on getting these rewards for as many stages as you can. The rewards will add up quite a bit and you can get lots of Hydra Crystals and summon tickets.
Ambush your enemies
Another little detail you should always try to do is to ambush your enemies. This is going to make things a lot faster for you to progress, since you can take advantage of this mechanic in virtually any battle. It'll also make progressing (especially at the early stages) quicker, since you won't have to go through the fights if you manage to execute the opponents beforehand.
Tip #2 - Explore the world and open all the chests

One of the features about Etheria: Restart that stands out in a good way is the chests. You can run into various chests and items when exploring the world, and I recommend you take your time and go open and collect everything. The chests are particularly good, since you can get Crystals and summon tickets from them.
Every stage will have a few chests, and some of them are located in inconspicuous places - I suggest you take your time and look around each room you walk into to collect every single box there is. There are also achievements when you collect all the chests from an area, so by all means, it's a win-win situation either way.
Tip #3 - Learn your characters' skills and use them in the right order

The characters you deploy each have their own strengths and weaknesses. As you've learned so far, some are damage dealers, others are debuffers, and others are healers. You need to know exactly what their skills are if you want to win the battles. For instance, Gray has a skill that boosts his and his allies' Crit Rate.
Each character can have skills that make a huge difference when used first, so you need to learn what they are, at least for the characters you use on your main team. Also, ideally, you should play the game manually and not on auto. That will ensure you use the skills in whichever order you want without wasting any turns.
Use Auto when you know you can win
That raises the question: When should you use auto battle? That's pretty simple, in my opinion. If your characters are strong enough to destroy the enemies without paying attention to the buffs or debuffs they get, you are safe to play the stage on auto. Otherwise, it's better to play it manually.
Tip #4 - Focus on just a few characters

One of the most important aspects you need to pay attention to in Etheria: Restart is the resources and how you spend them. Here I mean, specifically, the resources needed to upgrade your characters (Investigation Records a.k.a. EXP, Modules, Anime Imprints, Shells).
You should try upgrading a couple of characters as much as possible, so they can carry any battle. Then, when you've got enough resources once again, focus on the rest of the characters on your team. There is no point upgrading the characters you don't use because it's a waste of resources.
I suggest you first focus on Lian, since she's a free SSR character you get from the tutorial, then on Freya (if you managed to get her from the gacha with the rerolls), and then on Lingluo, since you can get her for free if you manage to complete the quests. As for your last character, it all depends on what other S-tier or above SSR you pull. If you have a better DPS than Lian, by all means, you can skip her.
Tip #5 - Complete your beginner missions

There are a few missions you should focus on from the start. These missions will guide you in the right direction progress-wise, and you will get a lot of rewards that are going to come in handy. The missions are:
- 7-Day Commission
- 7-Day Check In
- Task Progress
- Hyperlink Charter
These missions are pretty simple, and, at most, you just have to go about your day, playing the game, and you'll complete most of them. Of course, the 7-Day Check In is the easiest of them all, since all you have to do is log in to the game every single day and you'll get several Anime Prototypes (summoning tickets).
I suggest you read the requirements for all of the tasks and keep track of them, so you know whether or not you need to upgrade some characters, spend some Crystals or upgrade some gear - these are also tasks that these events might ask you to complete.
Tip #6 - How to spend your Hydra Crystals

If you happened to get a few characters that you like on your account, then the next step is to save your Crystals. The reason I am pointing it out is because I've made the mistake of spending all of mine in the gacha (after getting the characters I wanted). Once you get the character you need (Freya, for instance), there is no point in spending your Crystals in the gacha anymore.
Instead, what you should do is spend your Hydra Crystals on Stamina every day. This is useful, especially for the F2P players. You want to progress as much as possible, level up your account, and try to climb the leaderboards. Spending your Crystals in the gacha won't amount to much, so it's best you avoid it altogether.
Another good use of your Crystals, especially at the start, is the Animus Reconfigure. This is an event where you can reroll characters like Lian, which you get for free and are great early on, but then they tend to fall off. You can reconfigure the first time for free, then it will start costing Crystals.
After you finish these and you have Crystals left, you can go to the Weekly Packs in the Shop and purchase the Crystal Supply I and Crystal Supply II - the Crystal Supply II will give you 5 Apex Prototypes, which can be used to summon in the limited gachas. You can simply save them and use them when there is a banner for a character you really need.
Tip #7 - Farming should be on your daily to-do list

If your aim is to progress as quickly as possible, you need to consider farming. You can farm in the Daily Challenge and Trial Challenge, which is where you will spend most of your Stamina. The goal is to reach Level 15 and unlock the Limited Events, because these events can give you a lot of resources (including Crystals).
I suggest you spend all the Stamina you have every single day on these - consider it farming. Ideally, you want to farm DokiDoki in the Threshold challenge, because that one can give you the end-game gear (when you challenge her on Hell I and above difficulties).
Basically, think of it as levelling up your account, but also farming for the late game - it's something you should do every day, even if it's a grind.
And that's the whole Etheria: Restart guide, with 7 tips that we have prepared for you. We also have a guide for Crystal of Atlan, and a Last War Survival guide.
