- Meteorfall: Rustbowl Rumble is a card battler about the world's wackiest heroes
- Build a deck from a pool of eight heroes and 100s of cards
- Use Wildcards to change up the rules and duke it out for the mask of the Uberlich
The card-battling deck-builder genre is one which, it's fair to say, is incredibly popular on mobile. And for good reason, considering it perfectly suits the platform. But at the same time, we're always looking for fresh twists to add some oomph to new releases, something which Meteorfall: Rustbowl Rumble, which is available to buy on iOS and Android, may just deliver.
On the surface, Meteorfall is like any other card battler. You collect a deck of heroes and duke it out with them on a simple turn-based grid. But where the twist comes in is twofold, the first being that these erstwhile heroes are certainly not the Fellowship of the Ring, something the vibrant but amusingly grotesque aesthetic conveys.
These erstwhile heroes, such as the Bearberians and nuke-addled Snotwolves, exist in a pool of eight from which you select three to build out your party. Much like genre-definer Balatro, the focus is not necessarily on minute balancing, but instead on building ridiculously overpowered combos with multiple upgrades on a single card.

The sequel to the original Meteorfall, Rustbowl Rumble, builds on the existing mechanics in exciting new ways and is perfect for fans of the series and newcomers alike. Meteorfall boasts 100s of cards and the addition of Wildcards, which, again, much like the Jokers in Balatro, twist the rules of the battle in your favour. With wacky heroes, a vibrant art-style and plenty of cards to pick from, for $9.99, Meteorfall promises a pretty hefty host of content to enjoy.
