Townsfolk introduces Northsmen faction in latest update

Short Circuit Studios' Townsfolk is very much a departure from their other releases, if not in gameplay, then definitely in terms of aesthetic. While the minimalist look of Teeny Tiny Towns and toybox aesthetic of Teeny Tiny Trains are more comforting, Townsfolk has an almost garish look about it, so it makes sense they'd complement that with their newest faction.

Yes, it's none other than the grim Vikings... I mean Northsmen, who are making their way in their signature longboats to the lands of Townsfolk. These fierce warriors have arrived in the New World with their own structures, a full tech tree and tactics for both Skirmish and Campaign play.

Speaking of play, there's a new Turn-Based mode for those of you who prefer something a little more tactical and slower-paced. And now you can also make multiple saves in Skirmish mode, letting you try out a variety of strategies as you see fit.

Teeny Tiny Terrors

It's remarkable how much of a departure Townsfolk feels from Short Circuit's previous releases. It has far more of an emphasis on tactics and a far longer-term style of play, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, and I'm sure many fans are glad to see it get plenty of attention.
