Off the AppStore: Healthy sword rage in Fruits of Fury!

- A flashy, slashy pixel samurai action game featuring a carrot
- Enemies ignore you, but they're unstoppable until they're juiced!
- Use your sword, dashing, techniques, and items to power up and cut through waves
Welcome to Off The AppStore, a weekly feature with a twist. Namely, that while these - as with all the games we cover here - are games that you can play on your phone, they're ones that operate outside of the realms of the big two ways to play: The Google Play Store and the Apple AppStore.
That means that there might be a bit of work required in downloading alternative AppStores or APKs, or that the games can simply be played in your phone browser. We'll make sure to detail that for each game though. Anyway, read on to find a new game or experience to play Off The AppStore.
Hey, have you had your five a day yet? If you haven't, you'd better get on that, and then you can feel better about sinking into your seat to play some fun games. Nothing is safe from designers' imaginations, as anyone and anything can be a hero (or villain) and be given a daunting task to complete. Sometimes it's fun, other times it's challenging, but we're always hoping it will be both. This is what Berru and Para wanted to do when they created Fruits of Fury, which will not fill you with fury… probably, it just depends on your personality.
It makes sense that the hero here is a carrot, because that's the only produce with good enough eyesight to see the danger coming (eh?). Yes, you are an unnamed carrot with an eyemask and katana that likely trained on a mountain or in a forest to learn the ways of the blade. They had to learn such skills because their duty is to protect the precious watering can, representing hope, life, and whatever symbolic meaning you want to give it. Unfortunately, every other produce in the realm wants some of that precious water, and they're willing to forego the proper procedures to get some.

This means they'll completely ignore the carrot and sharpen their blade to start cutting them down. Your mission is to slice through all the fruits and berries that would dare approach the watering can using all the skills you've learned. You must dash around the screen, landing hits and eliminations before the targets get too close. You'll have a mix of abilities, including a flashy AoE attack, a crowd-control technique, and even some shuriken to throw across the field. After beating a few waves, you'll get a chance to upgrade any of your available skills, your inherent stats, or even summon some allies to the field.
Fruits of Fury quickly ramps up with all the different fruits it throws at once, and though they ignore the carrot, they will not be stopped unless you stop them. The sheer variety will have you dealing with large, bulky units or amassed groups moving as one. You must rely on strategy to eliminate the various groups as they get bigger and ever closer to the watering can. In this scenario, you are quite literally the carrot and stick (sword, you get it).
