You know that feeling when you find something that feels so amazing to play, you start wondering: "Are there other games just like this one?" That's exactly how I felt once I started playing Dead Rails.

I made you a list of the best games like Dead Rails I could find, or rather the most similar. And trust me, I've played a lot, and it wasn't easy to find a lot of them on mobile (sadly).

The list of survival games on mobile is long, but the ones that are actually exciting enough to keep you playing day in and out aren't that many. Some of the names I listed here you've probably heard of (like Last Day on Earth: Survival), since we've also covered them before.

I have taken the liberty to add one more honourable mention, which although is not on mobile but on PC, if you have a chance to play it, I wholeheartedly recommend it. It is the closest one I could find to Dead Rails. You can craft your own shelter, enemies come out at nighttime more so than during the day, and it all comes down to you making the right choice in order to survive for 7 days straight.

Let's dive into the list of best games like Dead Rails!

Last Day on Earth: Survival

Available on: iOS + Android

Last Day on Earth: Survival

In Last Day on Earth: Survival, you have something that's been around for a looooong time. Your task is to survive in a wasteland with only the things you can collect. It's all kill or be killed, and Last Day on Earth: Survival doesn't forgive anyone. One wrong step and you're done for.

One of the fun features of Last Day on Earth: Survival is the pet system. You can acquire pets that are more than just furry companions - they can carry loot for you, which is why they're considered even more of a "man's best friend", you could say.

We have created a guide for LDoE to help you get started, but we also have some bunker codes for you, so if you decide to give it a shot, make sure you claim them!

Live or Die: Zombie Survival

Available on: iOS + Android

Live or Die: Zombie Survival

As the title suggests, Live or Die: Zombie Survival is all about living (that is the preferred outcome). You can scavenge for goods, build yourself a shelter, and try your best to improve your character while fending off enemies. Sometimes, you'll run into other survivors, but like it usually goes in the movies, not everyone is your friend, so you must be careful of who you put your trust in.

The best part about Live or Die: Zombie Survival is that you can also play it offline, so if you happen to have no internet connection, you can still enjoy fending off zombies and crafting goods!

There are several more features planned to be released, from a multiplayer mode that allows you to freely interact in PvP battles with friends (or foes) to raids that can be joined alongside your clan mates. Either way, there's no shortage of good content to clear or battles meant to improve your character.

Roblox The Survival Game

roblox the survival game header

The Survival Game is more like a classical RPG than a survival. You do have to eat as well as mind your breath while going underwater and all these other survival-ish elements, so in that regard, it feels like a lighter approach to the genre.

It is set in a different world than Dead Rails, and The Survival Game also has some codes (which we covered), so if you want to give it a shot, make sure you claim these for some freebies!

The goal is to immerse yourself in a world without technology - a world where you have to forage for food and craft your own tools. In a way, it's pretty similar to Minecraft (with noticeable differences, of course), since you can also interact with other players and even join private servers.

NEO Scavenger

Developer: Blue Bottle Games
Available on: iOS + Android
Find out more about NEO Scavenger
NEO Scavenger

Neo Scavenger takes a slightly different approach to the genre. You don't have flashy graphics, but the core gameplay is intense. REALLY intense. If you think you're prepared to take things to a different level in terms of survival, Neo Scavenger will drain your mental capacity if you're not prepared for... everything!

Basically, you need to adapt and overcome everything, from hunger to dehydration and cool temperatures, all the while you're trying to fend off enemies that are out for (your) blood. In here, every decision matters, and if you can look past the slightly dated look of the game itself, the gameplay is downright amazing.

7 Days to Die

7 days to die header

I've briefly mentioned this one in the intro, and if you want a genuine first-person experience where you feel engrossed from the minute you start playing, this is the one. THE ONE.

The premise goes like this: you have to survive for as long as you can while building a shelter fit to withstand hordes of enemies that run towards you. You can add spikes, walls, and any other reinforcements you can craft to the shelter, just like you would in Dead Rails, but the catch is that every night, the hordes get more and more aggressive. On the seventh night, the night of the blood moon (just like you have in Dead Rails during vampire nights), you have to face a mega-horde. It's an intense experience, and not for the faint of heart.

I believe this resembles Dead Rails the most, and if you genuinely liked what Dead Rails has to offer, you'll love 7 Days to Die. The only catch is that it's not on mobile!
