Gioteck TX5+ RGB Gaming Headset review - "Does your phone have an audio port?"
|
  • This headset has an audio jack?!
  • Fun, colorful lights
  • Great sound quality

I remember back when every single phone had an audio port. I used to wrap my earbuds around my mobile to keep them together. As we moved to more wireless items and the need to keep everything charged, I thought it was stupid. The time I went to an airport and purchased some earbuds, as I didn't have any, just to find they had no charge as they were wireless, was wild. The Gioteck TX5+ RGB Gaming Headset is a headset that needs to be plugged in, so you will need to make sure your phone has an audio port first. There is a small list of phones that have these ports, and if you have one of them, you might want this headset.

Gioteck TX5+ RGB Gaming Headset with microphone

The Gioteck TX5+ RGB Gaming Headset is black in colour, but has a ring around the ears, which can light up in a rainbow pulse. There is a button on the left ear that turns this on and off, right next to the volume dial and the charging port. This headset takes a USB-C cable to charge (not included). There is a microphone you can toggle out, which is quite short and not too intense.

Headset earmuffs

The earcuffs themselves are padded and comfortable - plenty of space inside for big ears. There is a strap on the band which stops your head from sitting against hard plastic, making the headset comfortable.

The audio quality on the Gioteck TX5+ RGB gaming headset is good. It actually was much louder, by default, than my current pair of earbuds. The audio quality was great too. The microphone works, no complaints there either, so it's a decent headset. The only real issue is that it cannot be used wirelessly, so a lot of phones won't be able to connect to it.

If you are after a decent headset with a bit of character, and happen to have an audio port, then the Gioteck TX5+ RGB Gaming Headset is a solid choice and works as well as expected.
