After a heartbreaking one-point loss at last year’s PMGC, Regnum Carya Esports weren’t just looking for redemption - they played like they had something to prove. And at the 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open in Tashkent, they finally got the fairytale ending they were chasing. The Turkish squad have been crowned the first international champions of the 2025 season, taking home loads of laurels.
The pressure was on from the start. Day one saw amateurs like R8 Esports and Goat Quality stealing the spotlight, the latter landing two podium finishes and pushing into third by day’s end. Regnum Carya held a modest but comfortable lead heading into day two, but consistency wasn’t guaranteed. They dropped early in game one and never managed another win, relying heavily on elimination points.
That opened the door for the underdogs. Goat Quality stayed in reach, while local hopefuls THE721 Aggressor and Nepali squad NEPX Esports made late-day pushes. With the new Smash rule format, Regnum passed the 80-point threshold in Match 10, but Goat Quality weren’t far behind. The final game saw Regnum wiped early by 4Merical Vibes, leaving their title hopes in others’ hands.
In a nail-biting final standoff, NEPX’s REXX delivered the last blow to Goat Quality, knocking them out of title contention and cementing Regnum’s win. THE721 Aggressor closed out the day with a bittersweet Chicken Dinner, and 4Merical Vibes’ DOK walked away with MVP honours thanks to a standout statline of 19 eliminations, 17 knocks, and nine assists.

PMGO 2025 wasn’t just a showdown for the pros. Of over 90,000 amateur entrants, eight made it to the Grand Finals. And with the World Cup on the horizon, Regnum Carya have more than just a trophy. They’ve earned an extra qualifying slot for their region, putting Turkey right back in the spotlight for what comes next.
