Angry Birds Bounce is Rovio's first entry in the iconic series since Sega acquisition
Available via Apple Arcade

- Angry Birds Bounce is a new release exclusively for Apple Arcade
- It marks the first Angry Birds release since Rovio was acquired
- Bounce is a new take on the classic puzzle franchise with a brick-breaker format
With the acquisition of Rovio by Sega back in 2023, I'm sure that there were some readers worried they would be distracted by their work for the company's famous blue hedgehog. But it seems those worries were unfounded as Rovio has come roaring back with their first Angry Birds release since 2023, with Angry Birds Bounce set to arrive on July 3rd.
There are two things to keep in mind, of course: that this is only available via Apple Arcade, and that this isn't a proper Angry Birds release, at least not in terms of gameplay. Angry Birds Bounce instead chooses to experiment and go for a brick-breaker format rather than traditional slingshot gameplay.
But apart from that, all the hallmarks of Rovio's fun and engaging puzzlers are here. In Angry Birds Bounce, you'll take on your familiar foes, the pigs, and launch Red and his friends into battle. Familiar abilities make a return as your objective is to get the perfect angle for the birds to smash each brick in as few slingshots as possible.

Angry Birds Bounce may be a departure from the usual format for the series, but it's no less polished than you would expect from a veteran developer such as Rovio. The only issue is, of course, the fact that this is on Apple Arcade. And while subscribers will be very glad to see another great addition to the lineup, for those who aren't already on board or on Android, they're probably gnashing their teeth that they can't get hold of this potentially great new release.
But, don't fret because, as great as Angry Birds Bounce looks, there's also some other great releases that've just hit iOS and Android. Not sure where to start? Why not check out the latest entry in our regular feature covering the top five new mobile games to try this week?
