March of Empires brings in World's Strongest Man Hafthor Bjornsson as new Champion

• The former World's Strongest Man, Hafthor Bjornsson, is set to join March of Empires
• Recruit him for free from June 16th to the 30th
• Hafthor is a powerful front-line Champion who later becomes a veteran Advisor

Fans of March of Empires have likely thrilled to the many historically inspired Champions that have helped them along in their journey to dominance. But now, you'll be getting an entirely modern yet no less intimidating addition to your lineup as the World's Strongest Man, Hafthor Bjornsson, joins March of Empires as a playable Champion and Advisor!

Best known for being the winner of the prestigious World's Strongest Man competition in 2018 and his role as The Mountain in HBO's Game of Thrones, Hafthor is a larger-than-life man (literally, he's huge). And from June 16th to the 30th, you'll be able to unlock Hafthor as a free Champion, in the form of a towering, battle-scarred warrior.

Hafthor will come alongside faction-specific missions that task you with utilising his raw strength to your advantage. As you advance, you'll see Hafthor transform into an equally powerful late-game Advisor who can offer plenty of hard-won advice during your most dire moments. 

The Mighty (Haf)Thor

Hafthor's appearance will also include Thor's Mighty Challenge, a new battle pass that's packed with rewards such as a Hafthor-themed army cosmetics set, and rally march customisations, all tailored after the strongman. The folks at Gameloft have also confirmed Hafthor is set to act as brand ambassador in the coming days, no doubt giving March of Empires a big boost.

As far as collabs go, this is definitely a suitable one for March of Empires, given Hafthor's legacy not just of impressive feats of strength, but also being a generally terrifyingly large bloke wielding a big sword who just fits into March of Empires.
