Katamari Damacy Rolling Live is coming to Apple Arcade for more rolling and sticking fun - but live
  • Roll around and stick stuff together
  • Rebuild a star while live viewers watch on
  • Please the King and unlock more goodies

Bandai has been giving "snowballing" its own meaning since 2004 thanks to the quirkiness of Katamari Damacy - this time around, you'll get to snowball into something even more ridiculous with Katamari Damacy Rolling Live. Coming to Apple Arcade this April, this odd but oddly compelling experience will have you rolling, sticking, and growing as you collect all kinds of random trinkets just because you can.

Katamari Damacy Rolling Live is supposedly the first new original entry in the series in years, so it's interesting to see just how this will draw loyal fans and newfound players to the franchise. As surreal as it sounds, I do think it's hard to resist the allure of wanting to stick things together by rolling around just to please the King of All Cosmos.

As you clear objectives for the King, you can light up the sky as a star or even find secret "Cousins" to help you on your journey. You can even unlock Channel Badges and Costumes with Royal Presents you collect.

a ball of random things rolling through the street while live chatters comment

To me though, what makes this new instalment to the IP more intriguing is the modernised twist in the narrative - the King will be streaming your efforts to stick stuff together, with chatters leaving comments on how you're doing in real-time. It really puts the pressure on when all you want to do is rebuild a new star.

You'll have to wait a little bit longer before you can get your hands on everything you can to create a ball for the King, though, as Katamari Damacy Rolling Live is slated for launch on April 3rd. It's an Apple Arcade exclusive, so you'll need to subscribe to the service to be able to play for free.

In the meantime, if you're hungry for something else while you wait for the official release, why not take a look at our list of the most hilarious games on mobile to brighten up your day?
