Sometimes you can tell everything about a game from its title alone. In something like Vampire Survivors, for example, you're trying to survive vampires (or, erm, their minions? Okay, bad example). But in other cases, there are names that simply befuddle and demand an explanation, like PBJ - The Musical.
Out now on iOS, courtesy of developer Philipp Stollenmayer, PBJ - The Musical is, as you might expect, a musically-themed release. But in this case, it's a hand-animated adventure through a rollicking rendition of Romeo & Juliet, starring a strawberry and peanut butter.
Yes, that doesn't exactly explain much either, I know. But PBJ - The Musical boasts plenty of puzzling obstacle course gameplay and a fully orchestrated soundtrack. You can even uncover new remixes of the extensive soundtrack to enjoy, not to mention the hand-animated paper craft-style graphics.

PBJ The Musical is definitely one of those releases that I think is at least partially banking on the eye-catching nature of its core concept to carry it through, and it's not hard to be intrigued by it. But at the same time having seen some of the gameplay, I think that it'll very much be a Marmite release.
I reckon that it's best to treat PBJ - The Musical as being something very firmly for kids. Aside from the musical aspect and the frankly ludicrous story, this is mainly an on-rails style puzzler by the looks of it, where you're mainly meant to enjoy the ride and the music rather than truly busting your brain cells.
Still, this is a fun new release, and if you want to stay Ahead of the Game on things that are hitting mobile then you're in the right place. Why not check out our regular feature of the same name and find out what's hitting storefronts on iOS and Android soon?
