Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid's tabletop Kickstarter hits goal in less than half an hour
Fastest raid I've ever seen

- Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid's Kickstarter has been fully funded in only thirty minutes
- While not the fastest, it's only ten minutes longer than the record for tabletop funding
- The Epic Raid is developed by Maestro Media to bring the mobile RTS classic to tabletop
Well, this is a turn-up for the books, isn't it? A mere thirty minutes after launching its Kickstarter campaign, Maestro Media's tabletop spin-off of Supercell's iconic mobile RTS Clash of Clans has already hit its funding goal and is now well onto stretch goals with more than 30 days still to go.
Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid is billed as a miniatures-focused tabletop box set that allows players of Clash of Clans to take the experience of the RTS classic into the physical gamespace. Packed with miniatures and a colourful board, it allows you to build your stronghold, train your troops and raid your friends (while fighting them off yourself).
While not the fastest, Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid isn't far behind the biggest tabletop success on Kickstarter, as Exploding Kittens was only ten minutes faster at a mere 20 minutes to its initial goal. Comparisons aside, however, it's still an impressive achievement and obviously vindicates Maestro Media betting on the popularity of Clash of Clans.

As I noted before, this tabletop spin-off looks to be a very clear sign that Clash of Clans is increasingly pushing into the mainstream. Which isn't to say it wasn't already well-known, but as any Star Wars fan will tell you, good merch and a multimedia presence make your franchise inescapable.
And clearly, the general public agrees, as now we just have to wait and see how The Epic Raid is received upon release. The tabletop community can be a discerning one, though, so Maestro Media and their all-star development team will need to bring their A-game to make The Epic Raid a smashing success.
