Hello Kitty Island Adventure heads into the deep as the Under the Sea celebration returns
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure is bringing back the Under the Sea celebration
  • Collect Mermaid Scales to get access to aquatic-themed cosmetics and rewards
  • Explore the new major content update with The Biggest Challenge

There are few mascots as enduring as Hello Kitty. And like plastic in the ocean, I'm sure that one day she will outlast even us. Speaking of which, have you heard that the Under the Sea celebration is returning in Hello Kitty Island Adventure?

Yes, Island Adventure, which is available on Apple Arcade, is set to see the return of a fan-favourite celebration. The Under the Sea event will take you, well, beneath the sea. Running from the 29th of May to July 3rd, you'll be challenged to collect Mermaid Scales via a bubble obstacle course, which you can then exchange for aquatic-themed outfits, decor and new scuba gear.

But that's not all! Because the latest major content update for Hello Kitty Island Adventure is also on the way. The Biggest Challenge is aptly-named, because it takes you for an epic ride atop Icy Peak, and it promises not just new things to do but a reveal that will apparently shock fans too.

Seaside shenanigans

These two major updates promise not just some summer-themed fun but also some surprisingly icy shenanigans to boot. It's not surprising that Hello Kitty Island Adventure has proven so popular, being available exclusively via Apple Arcade.

The Sanrio characters themselves have helped fuel a truly mind-boggling amount of merch, including stuff on mobile. And with the release of Hello Kitty Friends Match recently, it doesn't look as if Hello Kitty and her friends' dominance of mobile is going to stop anytime soon.

But if Hello Kitty isn't quite your bag, why not go Off the AppStore with Will Quick and discover new, exciting releases not available via Google Play or the iOS App Store? This time around, it's the aptly-named, furious fighting Fruits of Fury for you to check out, and how can anything that has a carrot with a katana be bad?
