Hey there, welcome to our latest edition of The Wrapp.

This is a chance for you to see what the various members of the Pocket Gamer team are planning to play over this weekend and will, hopefully, give you an idea of some of the weird and wonderful things we get up to when we’re not keeping you up to speed with the latest news and tips. Heck, you might even find a new game to play.

I'll cautiously dip my toe into the multiplayer realm with Netflix's latest launch, Squid Game: Unleashed. I massively prefer the obstacle course-style battle royale over the shooty-bang-bang version, though that's mostly because my reaction speeds are dreadful. On paper, this just works. The show perfectly suits the Stumble Guys approach, with each round working perfectly as one of the different set pieces. That said, I hope one of them isn't scratching a shape into a cookie. Also, while I'm here, I think it's important to say that Squid Game absolutely did not need a second season. But yes, I will still watch it.

Now that the latest expansion pack for Pokemon TCG Pocket is out, I will likely be spending the whole weekend trying to nab that Celebi EX given that it’s apparently the new king. I’ve been chugging along with my Starmie EX and getting by okay, but I suppose it’s time to switch things up - Stephen’s guide to the best decks should help you out too if you’re ever in doubt!

I’ve also finally updated my Zenless Zone Zero to the latest version, and since I managed to pull the S-tier that I wanted from the gacha, this must be a sign to continue where I left off months ago? Only time (and the holiday rush) will tell - in the meantime, what are YOUR year-end gaming goals? We touched upon ours a little bit in the latest podcast episode, and we’ll have more to come once the team’s year-end Wrapps go live over the holiday break!

Last week I wrote that I wanted to try out Path of Exile 2, but I was a little bit afraid that I might like the game a little bit too much. Well, I went ahead and did it. I downloaded the game a few days ago, and now I'm hooked, of course ????. So you can imagine what I'll be doing over the weekend.

Usually, sequels always find a way to let me down somehow, maybe because I have high expectations, but PoE2 is insane. Even though it's still in Beta, I really think this can be the best ARPG ever. Yes, even better than Diablo.

I honestly dread this coming weekend because it’s the weekend right before the holidays and my birthday, so I will have to spend most of my time cleaning the house, cooking, and being very social. Therefore, I will not have much time to play anything, even though I really hope I can find some time to squeeze in a couple of hours of Cookie Run: Kingdom since it’s the Kingdom of the Year event, and I REALLY want to showcase my decoration skills. Oof!

I recently discovered that Monster Hunter Now has added in a new biome/area as well as giant beasties to accompany it. That means that, alongside the catch-up community days for PoGo, I'll be decking everything ranging from "Big Angry Rabbit" through to "Large Feral Armadillo". Wish me luck!

In addition to that, I'm hoping to get some more time with Infinity Nikki. These last few weeks have taken a lot of my free time from me what with Christmas prep and school's wrapping up, but Infinity Nikki is legitimately a salve for the stress that comes with stuff like that, so I'm hoping to dive right back in.

There is so much seasonal stuff going on that sometimes I forget how much work the holidays require! So many, many people are bustling around, and all these things need to be set up, where is the time to sink slowly into a giant beanbag chair and play games ABOUT getting ready for the holidays? Actually, I don't know if those exist. I'll look into that and see what kind of fun seasonal events some of the bigger titles have going on… I'm sure Cookie Run Kingdom has planned something.

Looks like I'm getting alerts for the Super Snail limited Winter event! I've gotta see what that's all about.

It’s Chriiistmas! And I for one am afraid I’m not going to have much in the way of time to play my usual PC games, let alone anything on mobile. With that being said I do have plenty of travel time coming up, so Vampire Survivors is very much calling out to me once more. I might have to dig back into Darkside Detective, which I reviewed earlier this year, to finish all the remaining investigation and whatnot.

But overall, I’m looking to lay back, relax and try not to think about the busy year ahead.

I feel like this weekend is going to be a quiet one for me, work has been hectic and I feel like a good hibernation session. Occasionally I might poke my head out, play some FFXIV, and explore a bit more on Wuthering Waves, but hopefully, I will instead rest. Having said that, when I plan that I almost always end up playing anyway, so I expect the weekend will dissolve into Wuthering Waves with a hint of Potion Permit.

This weekend, there is the Pokemon Go Community Day Catch-up, which is two days of all sorts of high shiny rates and Pokemon to catch. I’ll be catching them all with my local community, which is what I always do at the weekend! Otherwise, I am probably busy with Christmas looming.
