The Wrapp - Super Shiny Pokemon, trips to Milan and rolling Welsh hills
What are the Pocket Gamer team playing this weekend?

Hey there, welcome to our latest edition of The Wrapp.
This is a chance for you to see what the various members of the Pocket Gamer team are planning to play over this weekend and will, hopefully, give you an idea of some of the weird and wonderful things we get up to when we’re not keeping you up to speed with the latest news and tips. Heck, you might even find a new game to play.

Dann Sullivan
Editor in ChiefI was in the midst of a travel disaster last week so didn’t get to relay my plans for the weekend. That’s handy, as they were turned upside-down by the changes and I ended up hardly touching anything gaming-related.
This weekend will be different.
While at Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco, I managed to grab access for a few new games, notably Gordian Quest and Supercell’s Mo.Co. I’m hoping to invest some serious time into those. HOWEVER, I’m off travelling again, this time for Pokemon Go City Safari tour in Milan, so some time will definitely be racked up in trying to catch regional and rare shinies.
Also, the new Expansion Pack for Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has just landed, and with perfect timing, as I’d just managed to grab the last card in the Triumphant Light pack (and only have three left to get from Space-Time Smackdown). I’ll most definitely be spending some serious time opening new packs to try and get a running start on my Shining Revelry collection.

Reviews EditorI was supposed to be talking about a new thing I’m going to try for our Ahead of the Game series, but oh no the Shining Revelry expansion pack has launched and, oh no, I’m still a ways away from completing the last expansion and, oh no, I now know how my weekend’s going to go.
And because I won’t be able to talk about anything else except Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket for a while, why not have a listen and see what our Pocket Gamer Podcast will be talking about instead? There’s a fancy new banner for it now, which means Will, Iwan and I somehow need to keep our nonsensical ramblings in check.

Staff WriterI’m still putting in some time playing Super Meat Boy Forever, and I have to admit that it’s more difficult than I anticipated. At the same time, I think it’s a lot easier to jump in and play than my usual stand-bys of Balatro and Vampire Survivors, so I reckon it’ll stay in regular rotation for a while!
Otherwise, it’s the usual stuff this week, but I’ll be giving special attention to Catherine’s top five new mobile games to try this week to see what great upcoming releases she’s covered!

Staff WriterThis weekend I actually have a book on standby. It’s called “Before the Coffee Gets Cold” by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. I’m planning on changing things up a bit and doing some reading too between gaming sessions! If time allows, I will also try the new Teamfight Tactics set. No promises though!

Staff WriterThis weekend, we have a research day in Pokemon Go along with Go City Safari in Milan. I am going to be playing a bunch of Pokemon Go. I really want a Shiny Safari Eevee, but will have to see if the Shiny gods are on my side!

Will Quick
Freelance Writer*(Beep) Hello, hi! Don't ask why I have this number or why it has a machine; it's just how it is. Ahem… If you're trying to reach Will Quick, then I'm afraid you've missed him for now. After getting early access to Crashlands 2, he decided to go back and play the first Crashlands to get into the zone… the Crashlands, so to speak. He will be trying to explore and craft everything he can while debating the cuteness vs. viciousness of the different alien creatures. If you need to pull him out of the Crashlands, please leave your name, and I'm sure he'll be able to get back to you… Ack, my throat hurts. I should've gargled with honey tea or something. (click).*

Staff WriterThis week I shall be in Wales for Mother's Day. If you have never been, it is a slightly wetter, but much better, England. Unfortunately, that does mean less time to play video games, a sacrifice I debate being worth the trade, but I shall hopefully still find a bit of time to play some Xenoblade Chronicles X. I have unlocked the Skells now, so am ripping around Mira and having a jolly old time.

Deputy & Special Projects EditorI doubt I'll have much time for gaming this weekend, as I have a big stack of work to get through. However, if I find a spare moment, I'll likely spend it on Pokemon TCG Pocket. Yes, we are the official TCG fan page these days, evidently. You can now do Ranked matches, so I'm keen to see how far I can get (not very, most likely) with the Clodsire Ex deck I plan to create. All the current meta stuff says you should pair it with Grafaiai, but I'm ignoring that sensible advice in favour of using Weezing because Weezing is a king.
